All- Party Parliamentary Group on Alevis was set up to recognise the important contribution that the Alevi community makes to British society; to ensure that British Alevis are represented in Parliament by giving them a platform to express their legitimate socio-political aspirations, so they achieve recognition for their rights and religion in Britain and overseas. MP Bambos Charalambous is the current leader of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Alevis.
During the Questions session to the Minister for the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan on 10/03/25, Mr MP Bambos Charalambous said that he is deeply concerned about recent attacks on Alawite, Druze, Christian, Kurdish, and other minority communities in Syria and asked the Minister to condemn these attacks and to outline what support the Government can give to these communities and whether he will condemn the attacks.
Mr Charalambous will today march with British Alevi Federation during the urgent protest starting from the Downing Sreet to the Parliament in support and asking for the Alevi genocide to stop.
